\"\"Since 1987 there\u2019s the artist house \u201cStadtt\u00f6pferei\u201d, based in the historical city centre of Neum\u00fcnster, northern Germany. It is run by the Dr. Hans Hoch Foundation as a special place for art and artists for contemporary advanced ceramic art. <\/em>The institution is evolving constantly and is characterized by numerous ceramic artists who have lived and worked here. Activities include regular exhibitions and workshops in the gallery or the International Ceramic Symposium, which took place here in 2010 for the first time.<\/span><\/div>\n

Due to the new internationally announced program \u201cCeramic Artist in Residence\u201d that started in 2013, we offer the opportunity for artists to live, work and exhibit at the residency house free of rent. \u00a0This residency program focussing on dialog on contemporary positions of advanced ceramic art, intercultural exchange, as well as experiments with materials and audience. For 2014, a jury will award 10 residencies to live and work here.

Conditions<\/span><\/p>\n

This residency is designed to accomodate emerging artists for 4 weeks free of charge and includes a well equipped ceramic studio, as well as a comfortable living space. The resident will be provided with basic materials and electric and gas kilns firings during the course of the residency. The studio space is open to the public during the day, artists are requested to be present and available for visitors giving them an insight into their creative process. Each artist need to present themself and their way of working, in the middle of the residency in the form of a public lecture or workshop. At the end of the residency a final public presentation in the form of a exhibition or performance, focussing on the work produced at Stadtt\u00f6pferei, is expected.<\/p>\n

Application<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applications for the four-week stay in 2014 will be accepted latest until 20th October 2013. The residence program mainly supports emerging artists who focussing on contemporary advanced ceramic art, who are not older then 38 years old at the time of application and \u00a0who use clay as their primary material. This residency is only avaliable once for each artist.<\/p>\n
