On Thursday, 9 July, at 6:00 pm, the exhibition by our fellows Lina Wiedwald (L\u00fcneburg) and Justina Moncevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 (Lithuania\/Berlin) will open! Over the past six weeks, the two artists have been working intensively on new works as part of the international \u00b0Ceramic Artist Exchange \u2013 Tandem Program. The resulting artworks will be presented to the public for the first time in this exhibition. The opening will begin with a short introduction, followed by an artist talk<\/strong>. Afterwards, everyone is warmly invited to join us for conversations and drinks at our pop-up bar in the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will be open from Friday, 10 July, to Monday, 13 July<\/strong>, daily from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Lina Wiedwald<\/strong> studied Ceramics at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, graduating with a Diploma in 2026. In her ceramic objects, surface structures, drawings, and glazes merge into multilayered visual spaces. A complex network of meanings emerges, resisting clear categorization within conventional narrative and interpretive frameworks. The ornamental structures are not merely decorative; they play a central role in the artistic concept. They establish a system of order. In this sense, the ornaments are not decorative but functional elements of the objects themselves. Through repetition, variation, and accumulation, a hidden set of rules unfolds. The visual language functions as a framework of order that stabilizes thought while serving as a tool for negotiating inner and outer realities. At the center of her work stands the figure as a bearer of history and identity. The works evoke a presence in which different temporalities, cultural layers, and visual traditions converge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visual artist Justina Moncevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117<\/strong> (Lithuania) lives and works in Berlin. She initially studied Painting at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and later at Wei\u00dfensee Academy of Art Berlin in the field of Textile and Surface Design, with a focus on experimental materials in spatial contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Fl\u00fcchtigen <\/strong>is a group of sculptures developed by Justina Moncevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 during her residency at the Keramikk\u00fcnstlerhaus. The works take the form of woven architectures: fragments of image and text, abstractions. The bodies are autonomous, yet remain ambivalent, existing in relation to one another and to the surrounding space, suspended in uncertainty between becoming and dissolution. The sculptures are rough, scaled, and disproportionate\u2014resembling cropped sections of a painting. Seen up close, they dissolve into blur, into patches, textures, and transitions of color. Ceramicized warp threads interweave, building block by block, forming pictorial structures. Broken facades, torn threads, sharp edges: following an aesthetic of decay and the disintegration of image and thought structures, the works open up metaphorical points of reference and establish sculptural textile connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
